Most desktop PCs have a dedicated 3.5 mm microphone input separate from the headphone jack, making them directly compatible.
Laptop
Most laptops use a headset combo jack, so a TRS microphone may require a TRS to TRRS adapter.

Notes
Not compatible: DJI Mic 3 and DJI Mic Mini. DJI removed the 3.5 mm microphone input from those transmitters, so no external microphone can be connected to them. The original DJI Mic and the DJI Mic 2 do have the input and work normally.
Most laptops use a TRRS (4-pin) combo jack designed for headsets. A TRS to TRRS adapter may be required. Desktop PCs with a dedicated 3.5 mm mic input work directly.
